I love frozen bananas, but separating the skin from the fruit in its frozen state is difficult and usually requires a knife. Knife + slippery banana = no fun, so when I heard about edible banana skins, I got really, really excited. Probably not as excited as Kevin Spacey’s character Prot in the 2001 movie K-PAX gets when he eats a banana, skin and all, but excited nonetheless. Banana skin is extremely bitter to me.
I’ll be looking out for this novelty and other edible packages from WikiCells, a neat organization that produces foodstuffs that produce less trash:
WikiCells consist of a natural food membrane held together by electrostatic forces and containing a liquid, emulsion, foam, or solid food substance possibly within an edible or biodegradable shell.
But lemons, you can eat them whole. Weird, but true.
