Mahatma Gandhi is an amazing spirit. I once tried to be “Gandhi on stilts” for Halloween. I made my own stilts. I had my friends cluster in the yard and I attempted to move through them as though we were in a slow-moving mass of pedestrians – practice for going downtown. Harder than it looks – I almost stepped on someone’s foot.
I felt like my Neo-platonic adoration for Gandhi was the root problem, but I really wanted to stride the earth like a ten-foot tall benevolent Gandhi. Apparently the Neoplatonists and Hindu have more in common than I imagined, especially when considering the Upandishads.
