Janathon: Day 16

Well, I’m halfway through Janathon, and I’m in first place by one little mile. The competition is amazing, or rather, people are amazing and I’m happy to be running with a few of them. At the end of my night run tonight, I popped into a gas station for a snack. The clerk knows me and says, “Geez, I don’t know how you do it.” She’s smoking. “I tell you, you’re going to grow old. I mean, you’re going to grow into an old man and not die early if you keep that up.”

I replied, “Thanks, you too. I mean”- I stammered.”What I mean to say is that I don’t mean I want you to grow into an old man. I just want you to get old.”

Puzzled look.

Slow day

I ran a mile and a bit at lunch, an hour-and-a-half after dinner. Eleven miles.
