This is the most exciting thing that has happened to me all week. I just received a flyer urging me to vote for Pastor Sharon Henderson in District 13 in Georgia, in my old voting district in Newton county.
I moved out of Newton county in 2010. My house, taken over by crazed squatters after my tenant died, was robbed and vandalized and I lost it because I’d been laid off from my job in Pennsylvania and couldn’t physically leave and take my kids out of school to go down and fix it. We couldn’t afford day care so my wife would’ve had to leave work crazy early every day to get kid off bus. So, we were stuck in Pennsylvania. We watched our house slip away, as on a mudflow of bad times. I had renovated it with new flooring throughout, custom trim throughout, newly wired fixtures, appliances, HVAC and A/C . The yard was not only beautiful, but meticulously redesigned using existing elements from a photo of the yard in 1956, bricks slid from beds and in the clay downhill in the yard, flowers strayed and blown east and north by prevailing winds over decades, shape and style of bushes. People want to act like it’s not a big deal. Never mind the personal loss. Now that my foreclosure effectively removes me from debt acquisition, I cannot borrow. I cannot get a house for a few years even if I make buku. I’m in school for two years, so buku is not happening. The situation which required me to leave my house in the hands of negligent property managers benefited those to whom my unpaid debt has negatively impacted, releasing my family from rights and expectations of normal, slaving, debt-yoked citizens in this kleptocracy.
When I get a letter through a mailing list that included me in that town last year because of a bank filing against me in that county for a house listed in a district there, I realize that I am not going to be satisfied this voting cycle, which is a tradition we all share.
- A 2-sentence/ 6-sentence/ 2-sentence structure is used. Nice.
*Grammatical errors reveal that two of the ten sentences are not actually sentences, bummer. - Profile picture is also on site with different shopped backgrounds, lame.
*Website features passionate gospel singing. I enjoy gospel singing very much.
*Random photos without captions of her with people at Wal-Mart. No.
*Bullet points for Key Passionate Issue are not consistent. From website – go there if you want, I’m not posting a link for a politician:
•Special Needs Community
•Senior’s Community / Adult Daycare
•Veteran’s Community and Healthcare
•Mental Health
•Whole Family Values and Empowerment
•Homeless
•Education
•Budget Reform

From flyer:
•Special Needs Community
•Senior’s Community / Adult Daycare
•Veteran’s Community and Healthcare
•Mental Health
•Whole Family Values and Empowerment

•Budget Reform
•Partnership with Pastors
Homeless and Education are planks dropped from the home flyer. Partnership with Pastors is dropped from the website. ‘Homeless’ should be written ‘Homelessness’.
From digging around, I found that she had a retouched photo of her with Obama at an event in S.C. where Michelle Obama was assembling care packages for troops in Iraq at RFK Stadium. It looks like a head transplant because of the contrast around the hair, but because she’s quoted (footnote #2) in Michelle Obama’s autobiography as someone who was yelling “Michelle Obama” really loud, Michelle looked up and waved to her. The head of the mascot pictured on the wall at the site has been shopped out in a clumsy and incomplete fashion. You can kind of still see the face. The photo of the headless mascot really bothers me.
The photos are from a school event hosting Obama speaking about schools and such, but attributed to a giant outdoor event featuring Michelle packaging stuff for soldiers. The poor funneled into warfare is nothing new. I worked at a hotel and watched hundreds of kids from towns like Dillon, SC process at MEPS. The unifying quality those kids shared when I asked them why they joined the military was: town with no prospects offered military service as a way out. Jail or jackboots.
If I continued to check his campaign trail in 2007, I would find Obama checking in at communities that have historically contained areas of concentrated and sustained poverty along major waterways, speaking, organizing and encouraging his base of supporters. It would help me locate the school where these photos were taken. I think it was JV Martin Junior High, closed some years ago.
It is either an eagle or a panther or a wildcat. It looks like a cat. If you notice, the open mouth fills the lower half of the face. And you can see an off-set upward pointing canine in the left lower quadrant of the face.
I think it is a misfire to exclude “mental health” and “homeless” from home flyers when soldiers returning home from warfare are finding those two particular issues to be relevant in this voting cycle, making these topics more relevant overall. Because it is cheaper to house the homeless than not, it makes good sense to keep these policies in places, especially for our soldiers. Doesn’t it honor a community to be able to provide for the people our soldiers are fighting and suffering to protect? And the headless mascot sort of reminds me no one in the elect really gives a crap to the about those people inside those issues once that money starts filling the ballot box.
