Oil on canvas in progress, Lane Bane and Little Bridge

36” x 24”, oil on canvas

This first layer took a while. The water is getting a Prussian blue makeover. I thought about dragging nylon string through thickened Indian ink for the truss work, but I opted for a fat Sharpie because I need to get this moving again.

The white area middle right is going to be a focal point, so I need to add the basic surfaces and tones.

I will be working on this later today and tonight.

Tomorrow or Sunday I start another landscape, the site of a theater that burnt down the day the banks crashed at the start of the Great Depression.

At least four more sessions to go
